Club Heathcote Rebrands as The Arbour After $6 Million Facelift

Six years ago, Club Heathcote — then known as the Heathcote Services and Citizens Club — was closed by administrators and its future was looking decidedly uncertain.

A refinancing arrangement shortly thereafter allowed the doors to reopen, but it wasn’t until 2021 that an amalgamation with Ramsgate RSL put the Club firmly back on track.

Now, a positive new chapter is about to be written, with a rebrand to The Arbour Heathcote and the finishing touches put on a $6 million renovation.

The new brand reflects a vibrant, welcoming place, much like an arbour of trees providing shade and beauty.

The Arbour has been designed to be a premier destination for both locals and visitors in southern Sydney, bringing a fresh, new view on Heathcote while continuing to offer great hospitality experiences that the community has come to enjoy.

“Our venue is designed to be a welcoming haven,” says Societie Group (formerly Ramsgate RSL Group) Chief Operating Officer Nicole Heinrich.

“Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or enjoy a family outing, The Arbour provides the perfect setting with its scenic views and relaxed atmosphere.”

The new-look venue is aiming to combine high-quality meals and beverages with a modern, stylish environment that captures the essence of the Club’s beautiful surroundings and the stunning backdrop of the Heathcote National Park.

The renovations include the introduction of a new restaurant, café/dining space with views of the National Park, a sports lounge and a large alfresco terrace.

“Our commitment remains to make every visit special, with a friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home,” says Nicole.

With the Club temporarily closing in June to begin work on the renovations, staff were redeployed to Societie Group’s other venues, including Club Engadine RSL and Ramsgate RSL.

The staff regrouped in August to catch up ahead of the much-anticipated official reopening on Monday, 21 October 2024, with members and the wider community ready to return through the doors of the beloved local club.
