For many Year 12 students, the question of “what’s next?” after school can feel daunting.
With countless options available — such as university studies and trades — choosing the right path often brings uncertainty.
For students in Sydney’s southwest, an initiative by Moorebank Sports Club is aiming to bring more clarity to the graduating class of 2025.
Future Focus: Youth Careers Fair is an initiative by the Club which is offering young people a chance to explore opportunities, ask questions and connect with those who can guide them forward.
Taking place this week, the free event will showcase a wide range of industries including trades, aviation, education, sport, hospitality, community services, law and more.
Attendees can chat directly with employers, apprenticeships providers, universities and training organisations to get real-world insight into what different careers look like.
Stallholders include Apprenticeships Are Us, ADF Careers, Master Builders Association, University of Wollongong, Service NSW, Sporties, Legal Aid NSW, Navitas, Liverpool City Council and many others.
The Club has worked with high schools in their local community to help connect students with prospective future employers.
From apprenticeships and tertiary education to career mentoring and community service, Future Focus offers a variety of pathways and plenty of food for thought as students transition from high school to their next chapter.
And for those who need an extra incentive, visiting 15 stallholders will put you in the running to win a MacBook Air—a handy tool for study, training or starting a new career.
