Paws with Claus: Special Santa Photos at Revesby Workers
Revesby Workers Club not only produces some of the best Santa photos in the industry, but they also offer ‘Sensitive Santa Photos’ to cater to children with special needs, as well as the rare opportunity to share these frame-worthy snaps with ‘fur kids’.
The Paws with Claus photos will have furry friends smiling from ear to ear after some hugs from Santa this festive season. These special shots are being captured inside the Club’s Brett Street Foyer, with an experienced photography team that follows safe and conscientious procedures to protect pets from sudden stimulation or noises that could cause anxiety.
The ‘sensitive sessions’ are also conducted at dedicated times prior to the Club opening at 9.00am in order to support children with special needs or disabilities, or those who find it difficult to cope in busy social environments.
A Keno Christmas Miracle at Twin Towns Juniors
A local Tweed Heads man who was attending the opening of the Twin Towns Juniors Club on 23 November struck gold when his Keno entry won him $1.7 million.
The man was having lunch at the freshly rebuilt Juniors Club when the venue started going berserk with flashing lights indicating there was a big-time winner in the venue. The man felt a pang of jealousy and went home.
It wasn’t until his mate called him and said the prize still hadn't been claimed that he checked the ticket.
Twin Towns Juniors manager Chris Mullen said for the major win to happen on the very first day of trade at the brand-new club was “phenomenal”.
“Someone has come along to Juniors, probably to check us out and have a look around, decided to put a Keno on and wow, they’ve won almost $1.8 million,” he said.
“That’s a life-changing amount of money, and we’re glad to hear it’s one of our locals.
“To christen our new Club on day one with a Keno jackpot win of this size is something we’ll always remember, and our members will too.”
Santa’s Mailbox at The Shellharbour Club
Those travelling through the Illawarra & Shoalhaven region of NSW who are keen to get a last-minute note to Santa are encouraged to pop into The Shellharbour Club.
Club members and guests are invited to write a special letter to Santa, Rudolph and the elves and pop their letter into Santa's Mailbox at reception. They can then watch as it travels all the way to the North Pole where Santa Claus himself will be able to read and respond to the note before 25 December.
Santa’s Mailbox will be open until COB on Monday, 11 December.
Merimbula RSL Launches New Sports Bar in Memory of Former Board President
Merimbula RSL on the Far South Coast officially opened the Ross Jones Sports Lounge on Wednesday, 6 December — named in honour of the Club’s former Board President Ross Jones.
The celebration pulled out all the stops to remember Ross with giveaways and drink specials, as well as South Coast radio station 2EC broadcasting live broadcast from the Club.
Ross was a very active Board member and was the driving force for the RSL to relocate to its present location. He was on the Board from 1987 to 2010. In those years, he served as Vice President for three years, President for 12-and-a-half years and was made a life member in 1994.
