Fairfield Clubs United Against Domestic Violence
The ninth iteration of the ClubGRANTS advertising campaign has kicked off, highlighting the support that clubs in the Fairfield local government area provide to the Zen Tea Lounge Foundation.
The Zen Tea Lounge Foundation, based in Smithfield, provides a safe and supportive space for women, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and disadvantaged backgrounds. Through wellness workshops, a community restaurant and practical support services, the Foundation empowers survivors of domestic violence to heal and rebuild their lives. Their work includes delivering life-changing programs, offering multilingual assistance, promoting emotional resilience, advocating for systemic change, and inspiring community action to prevent violence and protect vulnerable individuals.
In 2024, Fairfield clubs generously contributed over $147,000 to the Zen Tea Lounge, enabling them to offer life-changing workshops, community events, and a safe haven for those impacted by domestic violence — particularly women, families and individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
This campaign highlights the collective impact of the following clubs, celebrating their commitment to fostering a safer, stronger and more connected community by empowering those who need it most:
- Cabra-Vale Diggers
- Club Marconi
- Mekong Mounties
- Smithfield RSL
- St Johns Park Bowling Club.
Take a look at the 30-second ad below.
The campaign will also feature two 15-second ads and in-venue collateral for each of the five clubs. The ads will appear on Broadcast Video On Demand (BVOD) and pre-roll video, YouTube and social media.
This ClubGRANTS campaign series will continue to focus on how clubs, through the ClubGRANTS scheme, provide immeasurable support to numerous initiatives that improve the lives of those in their communities, including:
- Clubs in the Central West being committed to supporting young people.
- North Ryde RSL, Ryde Eastwood Leagues and Gladesville RSL donating $25,000 to organisations including Sydney Community Services to ensure local families don’t go hungry.
- Over $47,000 in ClubGRANTS from seven clubs in the Newcastle & Hunter region to Got Your Back Sista, helping to provide one-on-one case management to more than 50 women, and assisting eight families through their Begin Again program.
- Wests Group Macarthur, Campbelltown Catholic Club and Ingleburn RSL committing $600,000 over three years through the ClubGRANTS scheme to fund the purchase and installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in residences across the Macarthur region.
- Six clubs in the Illawarra & South Coast region committing a collective $80,000 to Lifeline South Coast through the ClubGRANTS program.
- Eleven clubs on the Central Coast providing over $150,000 to local surf life saving clubs.
- The tens of millions of dollars’ worth of support that registered clubs provide to the game of rugby league every year through ClubGRANTS.
- Nine clubs in the Tweed Shire providing $320,000 in ClubGRANTS to Shaping Outcomes — an early intervention service for children with a disability and/or developmental delays.
More key areas will be highlighted in regions across the state throughout the year.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
In 2024, over $120million in grants for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by $47 million.
