Ingleburn Bowling Club Prepares to Unveil $12 Million Transformation
Ingleburn Bowling Club is nearing the completion of its $12 million redevelopment, with the doors set to reopen in just a few months.
The beloved local institution has been temporarily closed since January 2024 for the complete rebuild of the main club building, which includes an expansion of its total footprint.
The investment in the Club’s future would not have been possible without the successful amalgamation with Ingleburn RSL Club in October 2020.
“The refurbishment of Ingleburn Bowling Club is an important step in helping us to achieve our vision,” says Ingleburn RSL Club CEO Glenn Cushion.
“The new facilities will be a destination of choice for recreation, entertainment and a place to belong. We’ll offer an exceptional and individual experience for every member and guest who steps inside our doors.”
Inside the new premises will be a modern kitchen space, new bars, a lounge, gaming areas and an inviting entry foyer, along with versatile multi-use function areas with operable walls for events of all sizes.
The outside area will see an inviting alfresco and entertainment space, enhanced bowlers’ amenities and outdoor food and beverage facilities, expanded parking and lush landscaping for a seamless arrival experience.
“We’re crafting a Club that’s designed for and inspired by our members,” says Glenn.
“We want it to be a place where you can relax and unwind. Where you can share a meal with friends and family or enjoy a game of bowls.”
While the Club has been temporarily closed for construction, Campbelltown Bowling Club has been hosting both the lady’s and men’s bowlers so that their play has been interrupted.
Ingleburn Bowling Club members have also been utilising the facilities of Ingleburn RSL Club in order to continue enjoying the benefits of their membership.
The Ingleburn Bowling Club was formed in 1954, during which time it had no assets beyond an enthusiastic membership and community goodwill.
Its first clubhouse was a modest timber building erected by Campbelltown Council staff and officially opened on 16 June 1957, following early funds saved through street stalls run by the Ladies Auxiliary and generous donations from local businesses.
Seventy-one years after its formation, the Ingleburn Bowling Club and its members are eagerly anticipating its next chapter, with an official reopening date expected to be announced soon.
