A regular evening at St Marys Rugby Leagues Club turned into a life changing moment when a local member walked away with an incredible $102,000 Members’ Badge Draw jackpot.
The jackpot had been building for months, creating excitement and anticipation among members who gather weekly for the popular draw. When the member, Linda, had her membership number called on Sunday, 15 March, she was present in the Club and able to claim the full jackpot, sparking cheers and celebration throughout the venue.
“I still can’t believe it,” said Linda, who has been a member of the Club for 13 years. “When they called my name and member number, I thought there must have been a mistake. I didn’t think it would ever happen to me. I’m still in shock.”
The Members’ Badge Draw is one of the Club’s most loved weekly promotions, rewarding loyal members simply for being in the Club when their number is called. As the jackpot climbs week after week, the excitement grows, bringing members together to enjoy a shared moment of anticipation.
The win marks not only the Club’s largest-ever Members’ Badge Draw jackpot, but also one of the biggest membership-based jackpot wins in the Greater Western Sydney region.
St Marys Rugby League Club CEO Rod Desborough said the Members’ Badge Draw is about far more than just the prize.
“Moments like this are incredibly special for our members and our community. When the jackpot reaches this level, the whole Club gets behind it, and when someone wins the excitement is shared by everyone in the room,” Rod said.
“As a community club, our focus has always been about creating a place where people can come together… whether that’s for dining, entertainment, sport, or simply spending time with friends and family.
“Promotions like the Members’ Badge Draw are one of the ways we reward the loyalty of our members while creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere in the Club.”
For Linda, the win will make a real difference.
“It’s such an incredible amount of money that I think the best thing is to take a little time, think about what my family needs most and make sure we plan for the future,” she said.
St Marys Rugby League Club plays an important role in the local community, welcoming thousands of members each week and providing a space where people can connect, celebrate, and enjoy a wide range of entertainment and hospitality experiences.
“Seeing one of our members walk away with a life changing amount of money is something we all celebrate,” Rod added. “These are the moments that bring the community together and remind us why being a member of a local club is so special.”
