Moorebank Sports Club Announces Land Sale
Moorebank Sports Club has announced that the contract for the sale of land along Heathcote Road has been officially signed by both Liverpool Council and the Club.
The news was shared during the recent Annual General Meeting, opening the door for exciting new upgrades and additions to the venue.
Amongst the proposed expansions are meeting and event spaces, more dining options, family friendly facilities, and a variety of entertainment choices that members and the local community are sure to love.
As part of this arrangement, Moorebank Sports Club said it is dedicated to ensuring that Hammondville Park will always have enough parking to support sports activities and Club visitors, addressing the parking congestion issues that have cropped up in the past.
Moorebank Sports Club Director Alby Taylor expressed that this essential project can now move forward.
“This is fantastic news for our members and the community,” Alby said.
“The signing of this contract means we can commence planning the future of the Moorebank Sports Club and the Hammondville Park Precinct with the aim to deliver state-of-the-art sporting and social facilities for thousands of families in southwest Sydney.
“Our vision is to provide our members and guests, local businesses, and the wider community, with access to a community lifestyle hub that has all their sport, recreation, or entertainment needs in one place.
“Our thanks go to Mayor Ned Mannoun and Councillor Fiona McNaught who have championed our quest to acquire this much-needed land for expansion.”
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun has thrown his support behind the project.
“This is an historic day, where we have achieved significant progress in delivering better outcomes for the community and for Hammondville Park,” Mannoun said.
“Sporties has always been a valuable partner of Liverpool Council, and our community deserves the best facilities. All proceeds will go into Hammondville Park to help fund the new Aquatic Centre and deliver the vision of the master plan the community supported”.
