Small Clubs Generously Supported to Attend Conference
Leading into the 2024 ClubsNSW Conference & AGM, the Association re-launched an initiative aimed at helping some clubs attend the event who otherwise may not have had the financial means to do so.
The cost-of-living crisis is impacting communities and businesses across the country — and clubs are not immune.
The cost of Conference tickets, flights and accommodation can add up quickly, so the re-launch of the Clubs Helping Clubs initiative was a timely one.
The program provided larger clubs the opportunity to purchase a full three-day conference ticket for smaller clubs, with ClubsNSW contributing towards travel and accommodation costs.
A total of 40 tickets were generously purchased by large clubs, which were then distributed to smaller clubs across NSW who wouldn’t have been able to attend without this support.
Among the recipients was Coledale RSL Club, with its Secretary Manager Greg Todd saying the initiative provided an invaluable opportunity to be in attendance at Conference.
“The Clubs Helping Clubs program was absolutely fantastic,” he says.
“Without the support of our sponsor club West Group Macarthur, it was unviable for me to be able to attend the AGM.
“It was also a really nice touch that I had the opportunity to meet with and thank their Board personally.
“It is a great benefit for the smaller clubs to be included in this way as it gives us the opportunity to be involved. We are a small volunteer-run Club and the support that we received through this program was very much appreciated.”
ClubsNSW would like to thank Mounties, Bankstown Sports, Liverpool Catholic Club, Cabra-Vale Diggers, Twins Towns, Moama Bowling Club, Wests Group Macarthur, St Marys Rugby League Club and Merrylands RSL for generously purchasing tickets.
The program will return in 2025, with plans to have more small clubs given the opportunity to attend the industry’s biggest event of the year.
