Brell House will open its doors in St Marys on 25 October, signalling a major investment in Western Sydney’s cultural and community life.
Home to the St Marys Diggers & Band Club, the site next door has been reimagined into a contemporary hub that unites families, locals and visitors through food, entertainment and events.
Brell House has been designed for flexibility, from midweek dinners to birthdays, corporate events weddings and late-night DJ sets. A diverse events program will bring live music, sport screenings and cultural nights to a rapidly growing area.
In the kitchen, award-winning duo Mitchell Davis and Gavin Gray of Great Eats Co (St Siandra, Bondi Icebergs Club) lead a menu built on accessible, seasonal dining. Alongside traditional classics, the team is introducing contemporary dishes designed to appeal to families and foodies.
“Western Sydney has an incredible food story to tell, and we’re excited to bring something new to the table, it’s food that’s generous, contemporary and made for sharing,” says Mitchell.
At the helm of this major transformation is CEO Marlene Shipley, one of the region’s most respected female hospitality leaders. Marlene started at the Club’s finance desk in 1993 before becoming CEO in 2007 and has spent nearly three decades shaping the local hospitality scene.
“We wanted a venue that feels like the living room of the west, a space where everyone feels at home any day of the week,” she says.
“Brell House is about creating opportunities, new jobs, new experiences and a place that belongs to the whole community.”
Spaces include lounges and booths, a landscaped terrace, a purpose-built kids’ playground and cabanas fitted with gaming consoles and beanbags for teens, underpinning Brell House’s role as one of the first major Western Sydney venues to build facilities specifically for teenagers.
St Marys is on the cusp of major change, soon to be the northern terminal of the new Sydney Metro line to Western Sydney International Airport, with Penrith Council’s redevelopment plans also reshaping the area. Brell House is positioned as a catalyst in this transformation, part of the wider revitalisation of Western Sydney.
“This is about creating a destination where heritage meets hospitality and where everyone belongs,” says Marlene. “We’re proud to be a big part of St Marys’ next chapter.”
Brell House opens on 25 October with an official open day event for the whole community.
