Bankstown Sports has joined forces with Sport NSW as the presenting partner of the NSW Community Sports Awards, spotlighting those who bring grassroots competitions to life.
The Club will host an esteemed awards ceremony on Monday, 29 June, honouring dedicated volunteers, officials, coaches, administrators and community champions across the state.
As a long-time advocate for local sport and community organisations — proudly supporting more than 40 sporting clubs throughout southwest Sydney — Bankstown Sports says it is delighted to be involved with the initiative.
“Community sport plays such an important role in bringing people together, creating healthier communities and giving people a sense of belonging,” said Michael Hanratty, Bankstown Sports’ Sporting and Community Partnerships Manager.
“We are proud to partner with Sport NSW to recognise the volunteers and community leaders who work tirelessly to make sport happen across NSW.”
Sport NSW CEO Stuart Hodge hailed the partnership with Bankstown Sports as a “natural fit”, highlighting the Club’s “strong record of supporting community sport and local organisations”.
“Community sport simply does not happen without volunteers, coaches, officials, administrators and local leaders who give so much of their time,” Mr Hodge added.
“The NSW Community Sports Awards are our opportunity to shine a light on those people and thank them for the contribution they make to sport and to their communities.
“We are delighted to welcome Bankstown Sports Club as the presenting partner of the awards.”
With a wide variety of categories, the NSW Community Sports Awards celebrate long service, community coaching, officiating, administration, inclusion, leadership and outstanding contributions by organisations and individuals.
Sporting representatives from across the NSW sporting sector will descend upon Bankstown Sports to reflect on the achievements of community sport. Tickets are now on sale via the Sport NSW website.
