Keno Numbers Reveal Winning Year for NSW Clubs
- Gaming
The numbers have been crunched and it’s official: players in NSW enjoyed more than $500 million in Keno wins last year — more than those in any other state or territory.
Key Points
- In 2023, Keno created 21 multi-millionaires and millionaires across the eastern seaboard.
- This included 11 Keno Classic and Mega Millions 10 Spot Jackpot wins in NSW and the ACT that were collectively worth more than $28.15 million.
- While players across the state, from Tweed Heads to Parkes, pocketed many of the multi-million-dollar wins, players in the Hunter and Central Coast region scored significantly more prize money than anywhere else in NSW.
A local resident playing Keno at the Shelly Beach Golf Club took home the state’s biggest prize last year — a $5.9 million Keno Mega Millions win.
While Keno wins can land anywhere at any time, last year players in the Hunter and Central Coast region came out on top with more than $110.9 million in prize money.

The state’s biggest winner last year was a Shelly Beach dad who took home a $5.8 million Keno Mega Millions prize from his entry at the Shelly Beach Golf Club.
“I’m stoked, but it’s a lot to wrap my head around,” the winner shared.

“I often enjoy playing Keno Mega Millions and I had put a ticket on, so I thought maybe it was me. My heart started to race.
“We’re keen to help the adult kids, more than we thought we ever would.”

Keno State Licenced Venue Manager NSW/ACT Ralf Bzdega said only time would tell which NSW regions would score the most big Keno wins in 2024.
“New South Wales clubs looking for innovative ways to enhance their customer experience are taking advantage of Keno’s growing appeal,” he said.
“Research shows that when customer engagement with Keno grows, so do Keno sales, delivering strong returns to clubs.
"Developing a personal rapport with customers and explaining the benefits of increased bets and ticket replays can significantly enhance their overall Keno experience.
“Informing customers about growing jackpots, ongoing promotions, game costs, and past winners also contributes to more informed and engaged players in your clubs.
“Additionally, hotels can tap into the wealth of Keno material available, including high-quality point-of-sale material and promotions that reinforce the game's presence within your club.
"Promotions have proven to be highly beneficial in engaging customers. After all, 20 games of Keno translate to one hour of in-venue fun – an enticing proposition for patrons to linger in clubs for longer.
“As 2024 unfolds, we can’t wait to see Keno create more winners and more winning clubs.”
