ClubGRANTS Ad Campaign Hits Wollongong
With the NSW Government announcing a review of the ClubGRANTS scheme, there has never been a more important time to highlight the true value of the program and the difference that it makes to local communities.
After kicking off in the Macarthur region last month, shining a spotlight on the $600,000 that Wests Group Macarthur, Campbelltown Catholic Club and Ingleburn RSL have committed over three years to fund the purchase and installation of Automated External Defibrillators in the local area, the second phase of the Your local club ClubGRANTS advertising campaign has now begun in Wollongong.
This second phase features a series of bespoke ads highlighting the efforts of six clubs in the Illawarra & South Coast region that have committed a collective $80,000 to Lifeline South Coast through the ClubGRANTS program.
The donations from these clubs have assisted Lifeline South Coast to answer over 10,000 calls from people in crisis or distress in their community.
Below are the donations made by each club to Lifeline South Coast in the past year:
- Wests Illawarra: $30,000
- Dapto Leagues Club: $10,000
- Berkley Sports Club: $10,000
- Collegians Rugby League Football Club: $10,000
- The Builders Club: $10,000
- Corrimal RSL Club: $5000
- Club Windang: $5000.
These clubs are committed to achieving the vision of Lifeline, which is an Australia free of suicide.
“Lifeline South Coast provides anyone in the community experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services,” CEO of Lifeline South Coast Renee Green said.
“We exist so that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.”
Under the Your local club banner, ClubsNSW has produced two 15-second ads, one 30-second ad and one 60-second ad to be shared across social media. A 30-second ad will also be aired on i98FM — the Illawarra's number one radio station — for five weeks starting on Monday, 18 December, and print ads will appear in the Illawarra Mercury for the next six weeks.
This campaign series will continue to focus on how clubs, through the ClubGRANTS scheme, provide immeasurable support to numerous initiatives that improve the lives of those in their communities. Over the coming weeks and months through to mid-2024, more key areas will be highlighted in multiple regions across the state.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
In the past 12 months, a record $121 million in financial support for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by over $50 million.
