ClubsNSW Kicks Off ClubGRANTS Campaign
With the NSW Government announcing a review of the ClubGRANTS scheme, there has never been a more important time to highlight the true value of the program and the difference that it makes to local communities.
Following the release of the ClubGRANTS data last month, ClubsNSW has been able to identify key areas where clubs have banded together to support a particular cause — be it mental health, education, domestic violence, or homelessness — and has taken the opportunity to shine a spotlight on those collaborations in a series of bespoke advertising campaigns which will gradually be rolled out across the state over the coming weeks and months.
The first of these campaigns shines a spotlight on Wests Group Macarthur, Campbelltown Catholic Club and Ingleburn RSL, who have committed $600,000 over three years through the ClubGRANTS scheme to fund the purchase and installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in residences across the Macarthur region. This support will help fund 66 Heart of the Nation wall-mounted AEDs, outdoor housing, a tracking device with connectivity for eight years, a set of replacement pads, batteries and related signage.
These clubs are committed to achieving the vision of Heart of The Nation, which is to have an AED accessible within one minute of every home.
“Together, we can save lives from sudden cardiac arrest,” says Greg Page — original Yellow Wiggle and CEO and Founder of Heart of the Nation — in the latest episode of ClubTV.
ClubsNSW has also produced three 15-second ads — one each for Wests Group Macarthur, Campbelltown Catholic Club and Ingleburn RSL — to be used across their respective social media channels. A 30-second ad featuring Greg Page and the CEOs of each of the three clubs was also created for geo-targeted posts across the Your Local Club social media channels.
Additionally, Greg Page voiced a 30-second ad to be played on 2GB until the end of December 2023. The initiative is also depicted on bus backs driving prominent routes in the Macarthur region over the next five weeks.
This is the beginning of a series of campaigns which focus on how clubs, through the ClubGRANTS scheme, provide immeasurable support to numerous initiatives that improve the lives of those in their communities. Over the coming weeks and months through to mid-2024, more key areas will be highlighted in multiple regions across the state.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
Rebecca Riant, CEO of ClubNSW, said ClubGRANTS has now delivered more than $1.5 billion in community benefits since its inception.
“ClubGRANTS is a fantastic program that drives support for community organisations and activities within a club’s local area and support for the core purpose for which clubs were established,” Ms Riant said.
“Every year, several thousand applications are received from charities that provide a range of vital services, including domestic violence crisis care, homeless shelters, veterans’ support and mental health programs. Without ClubGRANTS, many of these groups would not be able to provide the breadth of essential services that need continuous resourcing and financial certainty.”
In the past 12 months, a record $121 million in financial support for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by over $50 million.
