Powering the Future: Hosting Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Sites
The NSW Government is striving to boost electric vehicle adoption, but achieving this goal requires a world-class charging network. Clubs can play a central role in electrification by providing these facilities.
Many venues offer charging facilities, providing support to their local communities. There are now opportunities for other clubs to offer electric vehicle chargers to members, guests and visitors.
The NSW Government is allocating more than $200 million towards establishing comprehensive electric vehicle charging facilities.
As a component of this investment, $149 million has been dedicated to grants to facilitate co-funding opportunities for charge point operators. This will support the installation and management of ultra-fast charging stations located at 100km intervals throughout the state and every 5km within metropolitan areas.
What does this mean for clubs?
To be part of the world-class charging network, clubs can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be a ‘site host’. The NSW Government is particularly interested in receiving EOIs for sites identified as ‘optimal’ in the map here (however, this doesn’t prevent any interested club from providing an EOI).
The program serves as a connection between the landowner and the charging company.
Applications close at 8am on 31 December 2024.

So, if your club is eager to contribute to emissions reduction and expedite electrification efforts, this opportunity could be ideal for you.
