The rising cost-of-living has emerged as one of the key areas of focus for clubs over the past year, with a record 142 finalists announced in the prestigious 2025 Clubs & Community Awards.
The awards recognise the pivotal role that clubs make in communities right across the state in the following nine categories: Arts, Culture & Entertainment; Education; Emergency Services; Environmental Sustainability; Fostering Grassroots Sport; Health Care; Heart of the Community; Mental Wellbeing; and Social Inclusion.
Among the big list of worthy contenders from across NSW are Toronto Diggers’ Filling the Pantry initiative feeding locals doing it tough, Revesby Workers’ Club’s School Subsidy Program helping students’ schooling journeys and Wyong Rugby League Club’s support of families struggling with the costs associated with playing junior sport.
ClubsNSW CEO Rebecca Riant said the calibre of this year’s finalists demonstrates the enormous role that clubs play in the fabric of communities across NSW.
“I’m enormously proud of the social impact that NSW clubs have and the causes they champion, which collectively help to make our state a better place to live,” said Ms Riant.
“Whether it’s feeding the most vulnerable members of society, assisting parents with the cost of junior sport registration or helping our veterans, communities continue to be enriched every day by registered clubs.
“While they don’t set out to be recognised, the social and economic impact of clubs – which is collectively worth $9 billion to NSW annually - deserves to be celebrated.”
The winners will be announced at the Clubs & Community Awards Night at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney on Thursday, 19 June 2025.
